Test posting
Re: Test posting
I've attached a photo to the message to see how it looks.
OK, so here is the better way to show photos in a post: Click on the "Attachments" link under the edit box and upload any photos you want to link to in the message. Once you've uploaded the photos you want to link to, click on the "insert" link in the attachments window (see screen shot below):
It will put a link in the message with a thumbnail of the photo and if you click the thumbnail, it will show the full size picture in a new window.
OK, now here is one I linked to from an external site:
To do this, you need to have the URL to the picture that is hosted somewhere else. See photo below for details:

Re: Test posting
I updated my last post to show how you can link to photos posted elsewhere and not display in the default 100x100 size.
For photos that are attached (not linked to), it looks like the current restriction is 1.3MB per photo and a total size (for all posts by a person) of about 20 gig. So it looks like you could attach about 15 photos or so. I think we need to be a little careful of what we put here, I'm not sure how much disk space we have available. Doing the outside linking thing would probably be preferable if possible.

Rob,
I followed your instructions for the external link. It seems to work fine, but once the photo is up, it is squared off. Basically the left side is cut off. Not sure why this happens.
Nice engine bay btw.

Re: Test posting
I upgraded the forum from 3.0.11 to 3.0.12 just now, and it looks like it changed the behavior a bit. I think it will work the way we expect it to, though. It did fix a signature image problem I was having.....
